John Deere Lawnmowers Ranked Highest for Customer Satisfaction

A new report from J.D. Power and Associates has ranked John Deere walk behind mowers as the highest in customer satisfaction. Four key factors were examined.
- Performance - including ease of starting, power, effective cutting
- Maintenance - including routine demands and durability
- Warranty
- Price
Thirteen brands were studied. John Deere came out highest with a score of 790 out of 1000. Honda at 778 and Toro at 766 were runners up.
Problems encountered by owners of walk behind mowers are reported by less than one in ten owners. Problems that are reported are usually to do with starting mechanisms, the drive stystem or the engine. In general wlak behind mowers are durable and relatively trouble free. According to J.D. Power and Associates John Deere mowers had an exceptionally low rate of reported problems, less than half those reported by many other brands. There was very little difference in the scores for electric or gas powered mowers showing that the satisfaction for these are very similar. The most important consideration when considering the purchase of a new mower was found by the study to be the price.
