That poor 210 has “rebuild me” written all over it. My 212 was in worse shape, it finally died after hauling downed trees from our fence row.

Reminds me of my father’s old John Deere 214, which he sold years ago after moving to our current location (small yard). The mower we have now (a Troy Bilt), I’ve taken it over a small hole in the garden a few times and got stuck, came close to tipping it, but got it out using foot power.

the grinding comes from the fact that I cant find two other bolts for the motor mounts, so as the engine runs, it moves back and forth, causing the idler to move a lot and occasionally rub on the frame.

Is the grinding noise coming from the tranny? Sounds like the machine’s had better days, still nice though.

Why are we idiots, when I bought it, it had a blown motor, and I rebuilt it and used it on my farm. Why is that destroying it? I think it was more destroyed wehn I bought it than now
